My brothers and sisters, let’s talk. Last week I wrote**, **“If schools don’t teach AI, they are preparing students for a world that no longer exists.” Within minutes, the comment section caught fire.

One person shouted, “AI is mass destruction!” Another declared, “AI is the devil!” One even said, “AI wants to be a small god!”

And I just smiled because this is our African cycle. When Facebook came? “Satanic!” When WhatsApp arrived? “The devil’s app!” Now AI? “Satan walking on earth with legs.”

But here’s the truth…

AI IS NOT THE ENEMY IGNORANCE IS

AI is a tool. A hammer can build or destroy, same hammer. Technology itself has never been the enemy… but our fear of it has slowed us down for years.

Instead of asking, “Is it demonic?” We should be asking, “How do we use it to develop Africa?”

AI SAVES TIME SOMETHING AFRICA DESPERATELY NEEDS

Back then, research meant travelling, libraries, interviews, notebooks, dust, and sweat. Now? One click… information from all over the world.

Not witchcraft. Not juju. Just progress.

Developed countries are using AI for business, farming, health, education, money everything. Their youth are becoming millionaires through AI data analytics, automation, and digital products.

Meanwhile, we’re busy arguing whether AI is spiritual warfare.

SKILLS MATTER MORE THAN THEORY

You can lock your child away from AI, but you can’t lock the world away from them. Today, skills are the new currency.

Our children are still labeling grasshoppers and memorising “parts of a flower,” while other countries are teaching coding, robotics, machine learning, and digital entrepreneurship.

Who do you think the future belongs to?

AFRICA’S PROBLEMS NEED MODERN TOOLS

We face real issues droughts, unemployment, corruption, slow systems, poor health services. AI won’t magically fix everything, but it can help us:

  • Predict farming seasons

  • Diagnose diseases faster

  • Automate business operations

  • Improve education

  • Strengthen security

  • Boost African entrepreneurship

We can’t keep waiting for Europe or Asia to save us. Africa can develop Africa if we embrace the tools.

FINAL WORD: STOP FEARING THE TRACTOR

AI is not a demon. It’s not a small god. It’s simply the new tractor of the digital age.

Those who learn it will harvest opportunities. Those who fear it will remain behind, still shouting “satanic” while others move forward.

Let’s prepare our children for the world that exists not the world that vanished. Africa, it’s time to level up.
